Short Back & Sidewalks on the hunt for new volunteers in WA's South West

Short Back & Sidewalks (SBSW) is expanding its free haircutting services to Bunbury, Western Australia, and we’re looking for volunteers in the South West.

SBSW engages with local service providers to be able to deliver haircuts free of charge and free of judgment to people experiencing homelessness and poverty.

We’re calling on hairdressers, barbers and community-minded people to join SBSW in our mission to create positive connections within marginalised communities through the transformative power of free haircuts.

“The volunteer hairdressers and barbers that work for us in our services in Perth and other Australian capital cities are making a huge impact on the lives of some of our most disadvantaged and marginalised community members,” said Natalie.

“We hope that we will attract a number of volunteers in Bunbury and surrounding areas that are also willing to make an impact”.

Local Member for Bunbury, Don Punch MLA says he is confident the generous and compassionate community of Bunbury will want to be involved with SBSW.

“This organisation relies on volunteerism within the hairdressing sector, and I encourage anyone with the necessary skills and interest to find out more and get involved,” said Mr Punch.

“Everyone feels great after a haircut and a bit of a spruce up. Shortback & Sidewalks will make sure that feeling is available to all members of our community.”
