Short Back & Sidewalks bolsters Board with three new Directors

Short Back & Sidewalks (SBSW) is pleased to announce Alison Xamon, Kate O’Hara and Rebecca Smith as new Board Directors. 

SBSW Chair Tim Marney welcomed the new Director appointments as the organisation embarks on a new era of growth.

“Alison, Kate and Rebecca bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Short Back & Sidewalks”, said Tim.

“We look forward to their contributions to the Board as we enter this exciting next chapter.”

Alison is a lawyer and has been a passionate social justice and environmental campaigner for over three decades. She was the leader of the WA Greens where her portfolios included homelessness, mental health, disability, and family and domestic violence. Alison also has an extensive background in mental health and suicide prevention advocacy and has served on the Boards of numerous not-for-profit organisations. She brings extensive experience in community and charitable organisations to SBSW.

Kate brings decades of experience to assist the Board’s strategic plan and governance program. She has a wealth of business and leadership experience with a background in strategic marketing, digital strategy, communications and media planning, community creation and place making. Kate is currently the CEO of Foodbank WA and was the former non-executive Director of Hawaiian property group, Black Swan State Theatre Company, WA Cricket Foundation and Celebrate WA amongst others.

Rebecca is a passionate brand, marketing and eCommerce Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) leader with experience in global corporate, founder-led social enterprise and start-up organisations. She has a proven track record of sustainably growing brands, developing meaningful connections with customers and delivering strong commercial results. Rebecca has previously held high-level roles at iconic brands such as L’Oreal, Frank Green and Thank You. She is now the General Manager of Marketing at Brownes Dairy.

SBSW founder Craig Hollywood said the three new appointments will play a major role.

“Bringing this level of experience to the Board will enhance governance and help deliver our strategic goals as we enter a new era of growth.”
SBSW aims to give 15,000 free haircuts and positive community connections per year by 2025.
